Retired businessman Ken Cameron credits Dr. Sean Gormley for preventing a serious health emergency.
Late last year, Cameron, former owner of Cameron Restaurant Equipment, was experiencing a number of abnormal and concerning symptoms—including blurred vision and headaches.
Cameron made an appointment with his family physician, Dr. Sean Gormley, where—after a series of questions—he was immediately referred to a specialist.
“Within a few days, a biopsy was performed and before I knew it, I was diagnosed with Giant Cell Arteritis, also known as Horton’s Disease.”
Horton’s Disease is an attack on the body from its own immune system that results in painful inflammation of the arteries, usually around the temples and eye area.
After being prescribed appropriate medication for this treatable condition, Cameron is on the road to recovery and feeling back to his old self.
The quick and extraordinary care Cameron received inspired him to give a $10,000 donation in Dr. Gormley’s honour that will be directed to Project Cancer Support
I had a medical issue that could have been extremely serious. It was comforting to be under the compassionate and professional care of Dr. Gormley. – Ken Cameron, Grateful Patient
